Do I give MAQUINE my publishing rights?+
No. MAQUINE Studio is a project-fee engagement. You retain the original copyright, publishing rights, royalties, and creative control. MAQUINE receives only the limited authorization needed to review, localize, process, and deliver the contracted edition.
Is the public price preview an exact quote?+
No. The public preview demonstrates the canonical formula but creates no payable amount. Inside the private Studio, MAQUINE verifies the source-word count and service category before the server creates the exact quote. Eligible books use USD 0.06, USD 0.08, or USD 0.10 per verified source word, subject to the USD 699 minimum.
How does the paid Localization Pilot work?+
The USD 950 Pilot is a separate editorial engagement covering up to 10 source pages or 2,500 source words, whichever limit is reached first, with an edited localization, terminology and voice note, and QA summary. It is not a Studio localization rate or production package.
Do I need to upload my manuscript to receive a quote?+
You can preview the formula without uploading. The payable Studio quote requires a private manuscript upload because the source-word count must be verified. Do not send manuscripts through the public website or ordinary email.
Can I purchase localization without a production package?+
Yes. Manuscript localization is available on its own. Metadata, publication-ready files, retailer copy, launch support, and individual add-ons are optional, separately scoped, and never preselected.
